Stat News recently released an article discussing Chicago's initiative to fight opioid overprescribing. This ordinance, opposed by the pharmaceautical industry, will require sales reps to undergo training for ethics, marketing regulations, and applicable laws. Sales reps will also have to file reports with the city that disclose  the names of doctos they visit, the number of visits, samples provided, materials and gifts provided, along with the value. In addition, reps will have to pay a $750 licensing fee and renew their license annually.
