Competition in the pharaceutical market was expected to lower a product's price, but that hasn't been the case for naloxone, a lifesaving drug that reverses opioid overdose.
In another statistic, U.S. deaths from heroin overdoses surpassed those from gun homicides in 2015, averaging approximately 91 deaths/day.
