The NDEWS Coordinating Center thought you would be interested in a new study from Sydney, Australia conducted by Julia Latimer, et al and published in the International Journal of Drug Policy. The study, Risk of fentanyl overdose among clients of the Sydney Medically Supervised Injecting Centre, found that "between September 2012 and August 2015, clients injecting fentanyl [extracted from transdermal patches] at a drug consumption room had two times the risk of overdosing compared to those injecting heroin, and eight times the risk of overdose of those injecting [other prescription opioids]."
