On December 3rd, 2016, the Capital Gazette released an article discussing heroin overdoses in Annapolis, Maryland and Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The number of opioid overdoses in 2016 is greater than the amount of overdoses in the past two years combined. As of December 1st, it was reported that 108 people have died from overdoses in Anne Arundel, compared to  43 in 2015 and 44 in 2014.
