On September 13th, a new Ohio law was announced that offers immunity to people trying to get help for someone overdosing on drugs or overdose victims themselves seeking assistance from prosecution. The law took effect this past Tuesday and covers people calling 911, contacting a police officer, or going to a medical center for help. The only caveat with this law is that there is immunity for an individual only up to two times, with a third or additional times resulting in prosecution. This is one of Ohio's efforts to address the drug epidemic.
