On May 26th, 2016, Join Together Staff released an article regarding use of W-18, a synthetic opioid. Doctors in Philadelphia are reporting cases of heroin overdoses they suspect involve W-18, indicating that typical does of naloxone were unable to reverse the effects. According to one source, “We were getting patients with symptoms of near-death, and often required multiple doses of the antidote naloxone.”
