On October 14th, Scientific American released an article regarding carfentanil and the powerful effects of it. This article discusses the difficulty of reversing carfentanil overdoses with traditional medications, such as Narcan. Carfentanil is said to bind tightly to the brain's opioid receptors, that naloxone, in common doses, is unable to dislodge and reverse its sedating effects.
